We love Birthday Parties!

Today we went to Samantha's BFF's 2nd Birthday Party. Maddie and Samantha are best friends and they love playing, hugging, and on the rear occasions, fighting. We had a great time. The weather was perfect, the food was good, and the friends were great. Samantha had a blast playing in the sprinklers and kiddie pool. I have to admit my favorite part was dressing her for the party. Love love love her new black and pink outfit.

Making Cookies

Today I decided to make cookies for Samantha and I's upcoming trip to the ranch to see Papa, Uncle Kyle, Grandma and Ashley. I made chocolate chip and then my famous chocolate mint cookies. Yes, they are famous at Will's office. I decided that Samantha was old enough to help and I was actually really impressed. I would put brown sugar or flower in a measuring cup and then she would put it in the mixing bowl. She did really well with paying attention and following directions. We had a lot of fun. There was one moment in which she got to the flour before I could and, well, that's what makes memories.

Who Doesn't Love Cookie Dough?

There is a tradition among the Lewis women, passed on through my mom that when you make chocolate chip cookies that you must lick the batter of the beaters. Its a wonderful tradition that I started with Samantha today after she helped me mix the dough.

Driving Ms Maddie

This summer on Monday nights we have been hosting a Financial Peace University class at our house. Maddie is one of Samantha's friends and this is what it looks like when these two get together. Maddie just turned two this week.

Before we eat dinner we always pray and Samantha will say, "Pray, Pray." This is how she prays and sometimes peeks.

In June we took Samantha to the zoo. She did so good riding in the backpack and we had a blast.
