I'm really excited to document this new development. On Wednesday Oct. 13 Samantha took 3 steps by herself without holding on to anything. I didn't think we would see her do it again but then yesterday during our play date she walked 4 steps right in front of my friends, so I have witnesses! But, poor Will no matter how we try to bribe her, he has not seen her walk yet. She still crawls for her travel but is free standing more and more and not pulling up as much. The only thing is that she stands up, (not pulls up) gets a big smile on her face, giggles in delight, waves uncontrollably and falls down.
Yesterday she did the funniest thing. I had the women on the church staff over for lunch. I had to take Sam's highchair out of on of the chairs so we could use. I put it on the floor. When I served dessert she crawled over to it, stood up using it, pushed it over to my friend Becky, climbed in it, and stood there patting Becky's leg. Becky asked me if it was okay she was doing this. I said, "Doing what?" She told me what Samantha had done and I was like, "Oh, she has never done that before, hummm."
She is so funny.

Samantha update
Samantha is now 9 months old and I cannot believe how fast the year is going. Every day just seems to be getting better and better. Here are some of the things she is doing:
- weighs 17 lbs 13 oz and is 26 3/4 inches tall
- sleeps: AWESOME! usually about 12 hours a night. Naps are short as usual but today she has taken some awesome naps.
- She sleeps with a little bear and a blanky. I can watch her in the monitor pull the blanket around and snuggle up to it. One of my books suggested getting a lovey which is a blanket or animal to sleep with. After trial and error she finally chose those too. She has 3 other little animals in the crib but those are the two she cuddles with. Its so sweet.
- She gives us the best hugs and kisses.
- She waves viciously with both hands while bouncing up and down on her bottom.
- Says Mama, says Dada and says Da Da when the dogs walk by. It is different than Dada.
- She crawls everywhere including up the stairs. We have not conquered down the stairs.
- She eats real food now. She still eats baby food but loves when I cut up food from my plate, especially chicken.
- She loves to wrestle and tackle Mommy to give her kisses.
- When we pick her up she pats us with both hands.
- She has a walker that she loves to push and walk. We are wearing out the carpet downstairs.
Overall, we are having a really fun time right now. No big changes, just having fun.
