Need Suggestions

Hey all, I'm looking for a good, affordable elliptical. Any suggestions? I have decided to give up the dream of going back to running for now. Maybe when I lose weight and get some fitness back I will be able to run, but for now my knees hurt and lock up when I try to run and then later I have problems walking up and down the stairs. I have been to PT for my knees and I know I could do some rehab, but the rehab was very painful before. So, I'm going to my alternative. The elliptical. If you have one or know of a good brand I would really appreciate it.

A Great Question

Our neighbor is taking care of the dogs and fish this weekend. I think he is in 5th grade. He came over last night and I showed him where everything was. He was so good and asked me lots of questions about the dogs and their kennels and many what ifs so he would know exactly what to do. Then he asked me this..."If Lou the fish gets sick should I call the vet?" He was died serious. It took everything I had not to giggle. I had to think for a second what to say. I said, "Well, Lou is a very healthy fish and I don't think you have to worry about that, but in case something does happen to Lou, don't worry about it because there isn't much you can do for a fish. But, again, he is a very healthy fish." I didn't know what to say!!!! He is a great neighbor!

Random Wonderfulness

These are pictures that I took because Samantha was looking so darn cute. The pacifier with her name on it was a gift we received this week from Jane Zent, and I love it. I told Will it could not be used outside of the house because I don't want to lose it. And the awesome headbands are from Ash. I love'em!!!!

A day of nothing

Today has been a great day. I have done nothing but laundry. Samantha had a rough day yesterday so today I decided to make it about Samantha and make sure she was comfortable so she could get some rest. Her first nap was successful in her crib, and then we played. I let her take her next nap in the swing because she gets her best rest sitting up, and I was able to workout and shower and eat lunch. The next nap was with Mom on the couch. We were so cozy that we over slept and ate late. Now, we are playing on the floor while I type this blog. She is such a happy and smiley baby. Today was so great. Will is at Walmart and when he gets home we will have dinner. What a day!

Two Months!

Today we had our two month appointment. Its amazing how much Samantha has grown and changed. She makes noises all the time by either grunting or cooing. She has started to squeal with delight when playing in her pack and play. And, more than once has scared Mo and I with her happy shrieks. Mo helps by going and checking on her. She has rolled from her tummy to her back three times in the past week and can hold herself up with her arms while on her tummy. She loves to sit up and see things, and likes when she can stand on your knees. She has real fun when she can push off. In one of my books she fits under the description of a challenging baby under the subtitle, active baby, oh boy. She is really starting to show a lot of personality.

Naps are getting better. She still fusses and cries a lot before her naps but she is napping and the naps are getting longer and better. We got a crib wedge so that her mattress is inclined to help her reflux and sleeping positioners to keep her still. Well, they doen't really keep her still. That child is all over the crib. Yesterday morning Will asked me if I layed Sam horizontal in her crib. I was tired so instead of saying no, I said, "Why would I do that?" And, he replied will thats how she is laying. Therefore, I am constantly checking on her when she sleeps to make sure she is safe.

Other than the naps, she is a blast. Funny story. We had her on the pink stuff (antibiotic for her ears) and we didn't realize she was storing the pink stuff in her check and not swallowing it. Well, Will hates that stuff. I guess he was on it all the time when he was baby. He bent down to kiss her and she razzed him and sprayed that pink stuff all over his face and in his mouth. I laughed so hard.

Today we went to the doctor. She had gas for some reason and screamed the whole time so when she got her shots no one could tell the difference. She is growing and looking great. She is very strong and the doctor couldn't hear the heart murmur, which is good. Although, it might have been because of all the screaming. Anyway, Samantha is 10 lb 1 oz and I think 21 1/2 inches long. I can't find her sticker that says it. We will go back for a check up and more shots May 3rd.

My dad came this weekend and it was so fun. That little girl was held all the time between Papa holding her and it being the weekend with her Dad home. Speaking of, I have the kindest husband. He made pancakes for breakfast on Saturday and let me take a nap! He said thats going to be his new thing, and I said, "Amen."

What else, oh Samantha has learned to reach up and grab objects. I know this because Sunday she reached up and grabbed my big gold hoop earring. That was fun. And, last night I heard clicking noises and it was Samantha making them with her tongue. I cracked up. Anyway, I think that is all the news for now. Tomorrow I will try to take pictures in her chair for 2 months to see how much she has grown.
